Days 7 & 8 & 9 - At the Marriott Tech Center & a Ball Game

These two days were spent in classes and seminars at the hotel and the bike didn't even move.  There are lots of pictures of the bikes in the picture link at the end of this blog.  I'll not comment on them here.

The seminars were excellent and covered topics like A History of the Iron Butt Association by Bob Higdon (off the chart excellent both in content and delivery) Using Streets & Trips (I still prefer Mapsource), Route Planning, dealing with Electronic Bonus distribution at rallies.  There were two evening speakers who were simply superb:  Craig Vetter gave a personal history of his involvement in design of fairings from the late 60's and early seventies up to the current projects he has going to maximize the MPG out of a motorcycle.  Below are a few pictures of his bikes.  The F650 is ridden by his wife and the streamliner (a Honda scooter) is what he rides.

Today, Sunday, we took the light rail downtown to Coors Field and watched the Rockies beat Milwaukee in the bottom of the ninth inning.  The game was followed by a concert by Jeremy Camp, a Christian singer.  I would estimate that there were about 24k people that stayed for the concert. .

Here's some interesting decor at the entrance to the ball park (all kinds of balls).

Tomorrow we'll load up, watch the start of the IBR5000 at 8am and then head west ourselves continuing on the DamTour and the Cafe2Cafe ride.  Our first goal is to reach Pit#3 Dam in Northern California by Tuesday at noon.  It will be followed by a 300 mile ride up into Oregon where we'll get 3 more dams and a bunch of Cafe's.
